Dolphinarium? Not a good idea.

The star, WEDNESDAY 30 APRIL 2014.

 Dolphinarium-not-good-idea "

WE refer to the report “Langkawi set to lure the rich and famous with mixed development of RM4bil” (The Star, March 31), which mentions plans for a dolphinarium.

To all the people who read this article, DOLPHINARIUM IS NOT A GOOD IDEA.  Did you guys ever seen Finding Nemo ??? While Nemo and his friends were in the tank, they all have the same dream, they hope to be free to the ocean. For those who don't, here's a short flim about the movie.

After seeing this short film, do you feel the pain of separating from your love ? We all have families and so do all marine animals.

(Nemo is trying so hard to get out from the tank to find his dad)

(his dad even met the over-friendly Dory and the daddy turtle while his journey to seek for his son)

I understand that, we are facing Local extinction, Ecological extinction, Biological extinction, somehow dolphins are endangered species, building a dolphinarium helps to prevent dolphins from extinction but have you ever thought of maybe this is just make the issue bigger ?

" Mencengah lebih baik daripada mengubatinya ", dolphins are highly social animals,

dolphinarium do not provide a suitable environment to the dolphins, the climate and
habitat is often different from their native environment and some find it difficult to
adjust. Dolphins are not the of the same mentality as your puppy or your kitten at home. Therefore, they require vast areas to roam. Why jeopardize the welfare of wild animals by removing them from their home? Why not just take people out to swim with the wild dolphins, and let them interact with people on their own terms?

Dolphins have been seen protecting swimmers from sharks by swimming circles around the swimmers or charging the sharks to make them go away. If it ain't dolphin, these people will die from getting bite from sharks. Wild animals should be in the wild but unfortunately us human beings are destroying their natural habitats at such a fate that one of these days the zoo or the aquarium would be the only place where you would find the wild animals. Human beings are responsible for the discrimination of  destroying their natural habitats.  Dolphins are just like birds, they like to be free in the big blue sky, travelling from here to there, it's cruel to keep them in little cages. Dolphins belongs to the ocean. The plan of guiding people to dive in the ocean to meet the dolphins is somehow better than meeting them in a dolphinarium. These are wild animals, and as such need to be respected !

We love dolphins ! Let's save the dolphins !
